Bus

The local bus service operating in Baku is “Baku Bus” public transportation. “BakuBus” exclusively relies on the “BakuKART” for transactions, with the system not accommodating cash payments. The BakuKART cards are obtainable at designated terminals located within metro stations and at the terminals nearest to your current location (Terminals: "BakıKART" və "MilliÖN"). The "BakuKART" terminals only accept cash payments, and the cost of the card is 2 AZN ($1.18; Euro 1.10).

Tariffs set for urban and suburban passenger transport are as follows:

  • 0.50 AZN ($0.29; Euro 0.26) from 1 km to 15 km (including 15 km),
  • 0.60 AZN ($0.35; Euro 0.31) from 15 km to 30 km (including 30 km),
  • 0.70 AZN ($0.41; Euro 0.37) from 30 km to 40 km (including 40 km),
  • 0.80 AZN ($0.47; Euro 0.42) from 40 km to 45 km (including 45 km),
  • 1.00 AZN ($0.58; Euro 0.53) from 45 km to 50 km (including 50 km),
  • Over 50 km is 1.10 AZN ($0.64 ; Euro 0.58).

Tourist Buses

“Baku City Tour's hop-on-hop-off” bus provides a swift and convenient way to explore all of the city's major attractions with a single 24-hour ticket. A notable feature is the multilingual audio guide available in eight languages: Azerbaijani, Russian, English, German, French, Persian, Italian, and Japanese. The ticket includes earphones for the audio guide, a city map illustrating the bus route, and comprehensive information about Baku's attractions. The bus pauses for two to three minutes at each stop, allowing passengers to capture quick photos or, alternatively, disembark for a more in-depth exploration of the area and its attractions. Passengers can then rejoin the tour by boarding the next bus, which arrives approximately an hour later.

Geographically, ADA University is situated in the heart of Baku, in proximity to the "Ganjlik" (Gənclik aze.) metro station, providing accessibility from main green and red lines. The Baku Metro operates exclusively with the "BakuKART" for transactions, and the system does not facilitate cash payments. The metro system stands as the swiftest mode of public transportation. You can use the metro station "Ganjlik" (Gənclik aze.) to reach downtown hotels in Baku in 10-15 minutes.
